Originally the Rock Cabin Camp(circa 1936), then the On-A-Way Tourist Camp (ca. 1938-1952) which was ran by Sewell E Thompson until he became ill. It finally became the the Dream Motel, which operated until 1968. It was originally an 8 unit motel, and was later expanded to twelve units. 

During its life in the 1950s-1960s, the Dream Motel underwent many changes in ownership; most notability when it was purchased by George W. Turner Sr. from Jess Hollar. Tragically, George W. Turner Sr. attempted suicide less than a year later, blinding himself with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Turner Sr. survived and then sold the motel in 1960. 

In 1961, after being sold again, a two fires broke out in the same day, damaging 3 of the units. It appears after this is when the expansion to twelve units occurred. Eventually the motel closed in 1968, and the furnishings were auctioned off.
