Rock Village Court opened in 1946; built by homebuilder Eugene McCandless, it was sold new to Jas. F. Neece of Okmulgee Oklahoma for a price of $150,000 ($2,760,000 in today's dollars). Neece then sold the Rock Village Tourist Court to the newly-formed Rock Village Court and Hotel Company, lead by president H. W. McCall of Chicago. Originally a 19-unit cabin group and with a large "dining-room-kitchen-office building". The Rock Village Court and Hotel company immediately began plans to expand the facilities to provide air-conditioning and add 18 new hotel units on the second floor of the main building.

By 1961, the Company had dissolved, and the property was purchased by Hawkins and Harold Richardson in 1963. In 1964, Rock Village court was renamed The Sheraton Motor Inn, a franchisee location of Sheraton Corporation of America.

At this time the property had 50 rooms, with plans to expand to 100. All of the rock-faced charm was gone by this point, and an auction was held during the remodeling to sell off all of the original furnishings and sign

After September 1967 things really began to go downhill. The motel underwent multiple rebrands in quick sucession: The Diplomat Motor Inn in 1967, the Imperial Arms Motel in 1969, the Executive Arms Motel in 1970, Johnson's Economy Inn in 1974, United Budget Inn 1975, the Key Host Inn in 1977, and finally the Cavalier Inn in 1979.

The Key Host Inn / Cavalier Inn

The Key Host Inn (Later the Cavalier Inn) became infamous as a place where X-rated films were shown. Advertising proclaimed, "Free In-Room X-Rated Movies". After a 5-month long undercover investigation in 1979, a warrant was issued and over 100 adult films and TV equipment were confiscated, and chargers were brought against the owners. I was unable to find any record of convictions in the cases. However, the Cavalier Motor Inn did not survive much longer after the confiscation. The building was demolished in 1981, and a new construction America's Best motel was built. This motel underwent rebranding too, until it was eventually demolished in 2022, making way for a Chick-Fil-A.

Rock Village Court was made unrecognizable after remodling in 1963/1964. Any possible original structure was completely lost with the 1981 razing of the Cavalier Motor Inn, althrough it is doubtful much of anything original remained at that point anyways.
